Video Production I Shoot

When stuck without an indoor space to shoot their green screen footage in, my Video Production I students got creative and created their own “indoor” space in the parking lot at the college.

Digital Humanities at UWB

During Spring 2013 I had the pleasure of teaching Reality Bytes: Introduction to Digital Humanities at the University of Washington Bothell and this is where I brag about my students’ amazing work!

My Editing Students Rock!

During Fall 2012 I taught a video editing class combining introductory editing history and theory concepts with hands-on editing basics using Avid Media Composer.

The class had three different editing assignments:
1) An Intellectual Montage
2) A Music Video (using footage shot by Kris Boustedt’s Video Production I class)
3) A choice between a Trailer Re-cut, a Video Mash-Up, or a project of they pitch

A part of their final project assignments was to upload their favorite piece that they created to our department to our Vimeo site. Their work was incredibly creative and well put together. I was so proud of them at our final screening!

You can see examples of their work and some of the other amazing media work that’s been created on campus on the Shoreline Community College Digital Filmmaking and Performing Arts Vimeo site.

I look forward to seeing what these lads and lasses do next!
