This feature-length screenplay is based on the true story and folklore of the early 1700s cross-dressing pirate, Anne Bonny. Anne escaped an arrainged marriage and travelled to the Carribean where she met Calico Jack Rackham and learned the piracy trade. During her travels she also met Mary Read, another woman who dressed in men’s clothes. Throughout her life Anne experienced freedom on a level that most women of their day could not fathom.
