Dominic Wins… Er… Won!

So it’s a funny story…

A Dose for Dominic editors George Watt, Amanda Harryman, and I went to a workshop at the Northwest Film Forum where the Local Sightings film festival is held every fall. Dominic played there during the festival last year. I ran into the old Programing Director, Adman Sekuler, who was in the class with us, but left his official capacity at the Film Form shortly after the festival last fall. He was “Hey, Ruth, did my intern ever get in touch with you about how your film won the Audience Award at Local Sightings?” And I was like, “NOOOooo!” So, in short, Dominic won another award…. 5 months ago.

We’ll take it.

Dominic at Local Sightings

Happy to announce that my latest film, A Dose for Dominic, will be playing at the Local Sightings Film Festival at the Northwest Film Forum in September. I am also super excited to announce that it has been short listed for an award! Here is the skinny from the festival organizers:

Each year we select four features and a handful of shorts to compete in our juried festival competition. In selecting the films to compete we look for the work we believe most exemplifies the outstanding filmmaking found in the Pacific Northwest. We’re pleased to inform you that your film has been selected to be a part of that competition.

The crew and I are super excited to be honed by one of our local festivals. More details about the screening time and awards ceremony to follow…

Hazzard at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival

The Seattle True Independent Film Festival is to the Seattle International Film Festival what Slamdance is to Sundance — a spunky alternative to the big festival dog in town.  This year Hazzard will be a part of STIFF’s line-up.  More information about the screening date is forthcoming…
